They're Here!

They’re here!

For two months, our classrooms had been empty, our hallways had been quiet, and our playgrounds had been still. But now, the children are back, and what a wonderful difference that makes!

Granted, after several weeks of summer break, many parents are probably ready for some peace and quiet, consider for a moment this peculiar portrait of peace:

In a sense, back-to-school events, lunchtime, recess, athletics, and other activities provide students with space to be free from the troubles of this world. Free to be children. Free to gather. Free to play. Free even to make (some) noise.

May our schools be such a place.
